Dr. Robert G. PugachDr. Robert Pugach is a nationally recognized expert in the treatment of urological problems and has pioneered the use of minimal invasive therapies that minimize discomfort and allow patients to achieve the same benefits as with more invasive procedures.

Dr. Robert Pugach has been selected as one of America’s Top Physicians for many years based on his continuing dedication and outstanding work accomplished throughout his medical career.  He has focused many of his recent efforts on minimally invasive therapies for treating urologic conditions, including treatments for prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), kidney cancer, bladder control problems for men and women, and other urologic concerns.  He was invited to China to teach their urologists how to perform minimally invasive procedures for BPH and lectures regularly throughout the United States.

Dr. Pugach is highly skilled in the No Scalpel/No Needle Vasectomy and microsurgical vasectomy reversals. His interest in the No Scalpel technique grew after his trip to China where he learned how the procedure was safely and effectively used there since 1974 by Dr. Li Shunqiang. In North America a further refinement was to incorporate using a “jet spray” of Novocain that allows anesthesia to be given without a painful injection.  This remarkable technique means that vasectomies can be performed in 15 minutes with minimal discomfort!

Dr. Pugach received a Bachelor of Science Degree from New York University and his medical degree from the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  Dr. Pugach did his general surgery residency at New York University-Booth Memorial Medical Center and completed his urology training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center in New York.

Dr. Robert Pugach actively pursues continuing education and training by participating in meetings of the American Urological Association (AUA\) and numerous other professional organizations.  He was elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Healthcare Quality for the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review and honored as an educator with a lifetime membership in the Harvard Men’s Health Forum.

In addition to his urology practice, Dr. Pugach has served on numerous committees for the California Medical Association and he was elected Vice Chair of the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Organized Medical Staff Governing Council. He is frequently an invited lecturer at Urological Associations and trains physicians in the United States and worldwide in minimally invasive techniques.

Dr. Pugach s a strong advocate for education and disease prevention and provides free community education lectures and prostate cancer screenings.  He is also featured in various media outlets including “The Doctors” television show for his expertise.
